  Festival del Sempoashochitl | Sempoashochitl Festival

  Shochicalli Wellness & Art with the support of THPRD is hosting a free family friendly event that includes performances, culturally specific resources, market and food vendors.
  
  The Sempoashochitl flowers (Marigold) is a meaningful plant for the Anahuaca culture- native to what is known today as México. The Sempoashochitl Festival happens when the flower is harvested and many dishes, soups and teas can be made with the petals and leaves. The Sempoashochitl Festival is a time to celebrate life and nature. The event features vendors (arts and crafts), food vendor, and a variety of performances and one community altar.

   

  Shochicalli Wellness & Art, con el apoyo de THPRD, está organizando un evento gratuito y para la familia que incluye recursos culturales específicos, vendedores y actividades.

  La flor de Sempoashochitl (Marigold) es una planta muy significativa para la cultura Anáhuaca, originaria de lo que hoy se conoce como México. El Festival de Sempoashochitl se celebra cuando se cosecha la flor, y se pueden hacer muchos platillos, sopas y tés con los pétalos y hojas. El Festival de Sempoashochitl es un momento para celebrar la vida y la naturaleza. El evento contará con vendedores (artesanías), vendedores de comida, una variedad de presentaciones y un altar comunitario.

  The Multicultural Art Exhibit will serve as an education opportunity for all Oregonians and it will raise awareness of the diversity that we have in our community. This diversity will be highlighted by showcasing the handmade artwork that local artists have chosen to represent their cultural background and heritage.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Sat Oct 26 at 1:00 PM - Marigold Festival at Garden Home Rec Center / Festival del Sempoashochitl en Garden Home Rec Center

  Volunteer at this fun, family-oriented holiday event! Provide assistance setting up for the event, greeting event attendees, refreshing supplies, and cleaning up after the event. Volunteers are encouraged to wear dress for weather, as activities will take place indoors and outdoors. Please bring a reusable water bottle to drink from throughout your shift.

  ¡Sea voluntario en este divertido evento de vacaciones orientado a la familia! Ayude a preparar el evento, a recibir a los asistentes del evento, a recargar los suministros y a limpiar después del evento. Se anima a los voluntarios a vestirse acorde al clima, ya que las actividades se harán en el interior y al aire libre. Traiga una botella de agua reutilizable para beber durante su turno.
