Join us at the Garden Home Recreation Center from April 3-7 for a self-guided tour of our Deaf History Month displays!
National Deaf History Month is an annual observation that takes place March 13 to April 15 and commemorates three significant milestones in history of the deaf community, including the appointment of the first deaf president at Gallaudet University, the founding of Gallaudet University and the American School for the Deaf.
During this time we honor the contributions of deaf individuals and the deaf community to our country, and raise awareness about the ongoing advocacy work organizations undertake to make life easier and more inclusive for the deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
Join us to learn more about the rich history of the deaf coummunity in our society. Free admission.
