Jump Start is a preschool program based around the Reggio Emilia philosophy which uses creative play and social learning to prepare children for kindergarten. Your child will be placed in a group of children for the nine-month preschool program from September through May. The preschool program will run at the Cedar Hills Recreation Center located at 11640 SW Park Way in Portland, Oregon.
-Tuition is paid on a monthly basis and is due by the 15th of the month prior (example: November tuition is due by October 15th). If payment is received after the 15th, a late fee of $30 will be charged.
-All children MUST be able to use the restroom independently before entering preschool. Pull-ups are not allowed.
-Children must be the correct age by September 1st.
-9-month preschool classes are eligible for Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) payments and are marked as ERDC eligible. For more information please visit: https://www.oregon.gov/delc/programs/pages/erdc.aspx.

Virtual Open House Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 5:30 – 6:15 pm
THPRD will host a virtual open house for anyone interested in learning about our THPRD 9-month preschool programs for the 2026-2027 school year. During the event, we will provide an overview of the preschool programs offered and give attendees an opportunity to ask any questions they may have about the upcoming academic year.
Fall Registration Opens: Thursday, February 5th, 2026 at 9:00am
Registration can be completed online, in-person or on the phone. There is a $50 non-refundable registration fee due at the time of registration to secure your child's spot in the fall class. Classes will be unavailable in the online registration system until registration opens at 9:00am on February 5th. See below for 2026-2027 offerings and class enrollment codes. If you have questions regarding specific programs, please reach out to the program coordinator. The first tuition payment for September will be due August 15, 2026. *All prices listed below are the in-district or assessment paid rate.

First Time Friends & ABC Come Learn with Me
Ages 2-5 years
These classes encourage children to grow emotionally and socially to adapt to a classroom setting. We will strengthen our skills in sharing, listening and following directions; learn to make transitions and much more through art, stories and free play. These are a non parent participation class.
