The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District partnered with the City of Beaverton, Five Oaks Middle School, and SOLVE to help the Five Oaks Triple Creek Neighborhood Association Committee (NAC) win first place in the Neighborhoods, USA (NUSA) Neighborhood of the Year Beautification award.
The Five Oaks Triple Creek NAC received the award for restoration and habitat improvements in Autumn Ridge Park and Willow Creek Greenway. NAC volunteers, together with Five Oak Middle School, SOLVE and THPRD volunteers donated more than 1,700 hours to remove invasive species and wind-damaged debris and plant more than 4,000 native plants.
“THPRD is excited to continue our partnerships with the City of Beaverton,” says Ali Kavianian, THPRD Board president.
The City of Beaverton’s Neighborhood Programs was created to support and encourage community participation in local government, build viable partnerships between the city and its residents, and enhance and promote the quality of life for all of those living in Beaverton.
