Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) provides opportunities for people of all abilities and ages to gather, play, and explore. To better serve the diverse and expanding interests of those who value our services, parks, recreation areas, natural places and trails, we are doing a Community Visioning process.
What is Community Visioning?
Creating a community vision helps THPRD improve access to a healthy, active lifestyle for all. THPRD will use your feedback to identify specific actions that will inform a strategic plan. This plan will also influence programming, funding, and strategic planning, and will serve as a touchstone for the Board of Directors and staff. Last summer, THPRD Visioning Task Force volunteers spoke to over 10,000 people and collected over 12,500 ideas to better understand the diverse and expanding interests of our community. This winter, those ideas were organized and refined by a group of nearly 60 participants into 4-Goal Areas.
Why is this important?
This has always been a diverse community. And it’s important to us that we meet its diverse needs. At THPRD, we value community feedback as we strive to be leaders in innovation and offer better park and recreation services for all. The visioning process today will help shape the future of the park district tomorrow.
Where are we now?
We have completed the Community Review phase, where over 750 members of the THPRD community voted for their favorite park and rec ideas*.
Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey to tell us about your favorite park and rec ideas! The results of this survey will guide THPRD’s vision and help us plan for the future.
*We are in the process of notifying the survey gift card winners.
THPRD staff will now work on reviewing the survey results and begin the process of writing the final vision report. Later this summer, we will present the final report to the THPRD Board for their consideration and adoption.
Thank you for your participation in the process to create a shared vision for THPRD. Future opportunities to stay engaged will be announced through our website.
